Jan 24th - 27th A Recap

A recap of the last few days...

Jan 24th - Fri cont'd and Saturday

So my friend Bri and I basically packed up and left at 9:30 on Friday night. We traveled through New Hampshire, Massachusetts, and Rhode Island before stopping at a rest stop in Connecticut. I'm from MA, so it was still familiarish territory for me. It was great until we got hit on three times in a row by different guys, so we hightailed it out of there before things got sketchier. O.o

We got through New York and then almost all of New Jersey before stopping for the night... err, morning. We slept for about three hours in a freezing car before continuing through Delaware into Maryland! We made it!!!!

We spent some time there before continuing on to Pennsylvania (hitting Virginia on the way, of course). Bri is from Pittsburgh so we stopped at her house, which is absolutely beautiful. We went out to the backyard to visit her animals which include 2 horses (an Arabian and a Mustang, her paint Seth is up at school) and perhaps the cutest (and biggest as her horse side was Percheron, I think) mule ever. The mule, named Sue, was reaaaally smart and even plays fetch. When we opened the doors to the barn, she walked right in and passed her stall. Bri's dad told her to get back in her stall, and she backed up, opened the door to her stall, got inside, and turned around. She's amazing.

We went into Pittsburgh at night and rode the Duquesne Incline up to the observation decks. It was beautiful. A good end to an amazing day.

Jan 25th - Sunday

Bri's Samoyed Blizzard, aka Lizard, woke me up the next morning. No alarm clock works quite as well as one that licks your face. We had breakfast and then took to the road. It's an 11 hour drive to Durham from Pittsburgh, and we made it make to UNH by 1 am!

Jan 26th - Monday

I didn't have class until 11 so I still got a good 8 hours sleep! After class, my parents came up and we looked at a house off campus that 4 friends and I are considering to rent for the next school year. It's gorgeous, with a huge yard. Unfortunately, I don't think we're going to get it, even though my parents gave me the green light, so we're continuing to look elsewhere.

Jan 27th - Tuesday

So I had classes all day, from 8 to 5. Yuck. I did make a few new friends though, so it's all good. Bri and I went to the barn to visit Seth, the paint. Our school sent out texts that classes would be canceled on Wednesday due to crazy snow, so we went to the supermarket to stock up on food. We ended up cooking dinner and watching Scrubs. Then we spent the night planning out concerts over the semester. More on that to come!!! :)
