Jan 8th: Valkyrie Was No Springtime for Hitler

Fun day today. Hung out with old friends and went shopping. We also went to the movies and saw "Valkyrie" (Hence the blog title. I hope you have all seen "The Producers" and get the reference.) Normally I shy away from historical dramas because I know how they are going to end (I love unpredictability) but I still liked the movie, which is based on the July 20th, 1944 assassination plot against Hitler at his bunker, Wolf's Lair. Tom Cruise, who played one of the key plotters, Colonel Stauffenberg, usually irks me but I feel he did a decent job in this film. The movie on the whole could have been more engaging, but that's just my opinion.

I almost feel a little bit guilty that I'm going out so much and not working during my holiday break. I'm trying to save my money for my spring break trip in March so I'm trying not to go too crazy on my spending, as I'm kind of an impulsive buyer. *hangs head in shame* Well that's one more resolution I can work on.

Still gotta film my TWOA vid for tomorrow. I'm going to be out with Jennie, for those of you who know my "Yeti" from my vids. If you don't know her, get to know her! She's awesome. Don't be shy. ;) Anyway, I'm probably going to shoot while we're out but I'm not sure if I'll be able to get it up before midnight - it's hard to edit on this computer in it's "broken" state but I might be able to get away with another one-take vid. Even though I hate filming those... we'll see if I 'm forced to choose between punctuality and quality.

Hmmm My fam is watching "The Out of Towners" on tv. The 70s version, not the '99 Steve Martin remake. There's a scene where my dad's oldest brother (he's one of ten - I come from a big family) makes an appearance as an extra. He was 23 during filming... holy crap he looks young! He's 61 now. It's one thing to see family in pictures, but video is so different. I wonder how I'm going to look when I'm old.... yeah not gonna think about it! I'll just have my kids watch my YouTube videos. ;D

Later, Gators :D

I've actually thought about whether or not we'll still be making videos when we're all 30...40...50...60? It's some weird time capsule, but it's also all instantly deletable. I'm keeping mine up forever.

Valkyrie was fun. Not groundbreaking, but at least it was entertaining.
